Standard Chartered Priority Banking Referral Code: 8B92B

Use Standard Chartered Priority Banking referral code 8B92B to unlock SC’s welcome package β€” up to S$4,000 cash on fresh funds

What is Standard Chartered Priority Banking and Why Use It

Priority Banking is Standard Chartered’s mass-affluent tier β€” one rung below Priority Private. It’s built around a dedicated Relationship Manager, access to the bank’s Chief Investment Office house views, and preferential pricing across wealth products.

The entry requirement is S$200,000 in qualifying assets under management. That can be a mix of deposits, unit trusts, bonds and structured products, so it isn’t S$200,000 in cash sitting idle.

What you get in practice:

  • Wealth $aver account β€” up to 2.80% p.a. on your first S$1.5 million in deposit balances, plus 1% unlimited cashback on debit card spend
  • Bonus$aver β€” up to 5.85% p.a. if you hit the salary, spend, insure and invest criteria
  • Fresh Funds Time Deposit β€” 1.60% p.a. on a 6-month SGD placement, or 4.20% p.a. on a 9-month USD placement, minimum S$25,000
  • Trading and funds β€” brokerage from 0.18% on SC Online Trading with no minimum commission for Priority clients, and 0.61% sales charge on unit trusts bought online
  • Lifestyle β€” Priority Banking Visa Infinite card with Priority Pass lounge access, APEC card fee reimbursement, and global recognition of your Priority status across 20 markets

If you’re already parking six figures with a local bank and getting nothing beyond a standard savings rate, this is the comparison worth running.

The cash reward tiers (Q3 2026)

You pick one of two tracks. The cash track:

Fresh funds brought inCash reward
S$200,000S$350
S$300,000S$1,000
S$1,000,000S$2,000
S$1,500,000S$3,000
S$3,000,000S$4,000

The S$1 million tier and above also require you to sign up as a Priority Private client and consent to Accredited Investor treatment, where applicable.

If you bring between S$200,000 and under S$1,000,000 and you qualify, declare and maintain Accredited Investor status, there’s an additional S$1,000 on top.

The Signature CIO Fund track

The alternative pays roughly double in value, but in fund units rather than cash: S$700 at S$200,000, S$2,000 at S$300,000, S$4,000 at S$1 million, S$6,000 at S$1.5 million, and S$8,000 at S$3 million. The same S$1,000 Accredited Investor top-up applies.

The trade-off is straightforward β€” cash is cash, fund units carry market risk and are only worth taking if you were going to buy into those portfolios anyway.

Wealth Cash on unit trusts

Separately, under the “Invest and be Rewarded” promotion, you receive S$200 for every S$50,000 of eligible unit trusts purchased in a single day, capped at S$6,000. New-to-bank customers only, valid until 30 September 2026.

Note the “single day” wording β€” S$100,000 bought in one day earns S$400; the same amount split across two days may not.

So where does “over S$60,000” come from?

It’s the aggregate ceiling across every reward line at the very top funding tiers β€” cash or fund reward, Wealth Cash, and interest earned on Bonus$aver, Wealth $aver and time deposits combined. If you’re bringing S$200,000, your realistic number is S$350 plus interest, not S$60,000. Treat the headline as marketing and work from the tier table.

How to Use the Standard Chartered Priority Banking Referral Code (Step-by-Step)

The order matters. Enter the code before you begin the application β€” there’s no way to attach it afterwards.

  1. Confirm you’re new-to-bank. Existing Standard Chartered customers are excluded from the sign-up promotion. If you’ve held an SC account or card, or closed one within the last 12 months, you won’t qualify.
  2. Open sc.com/sg/referral on your mobile. Several product applications are mobile-only.
  3. Enter the referral code 8B92B in the referral code field and tap Continue. You should see a confirmation that the code has been applied.
  4. Select the Priority Banking tab, then choose Wealth $aver (or USD$aver). Opening one of these two accounts is a hard requirement for the Priority sign-up promotion.
  5. Complete the application using Singpass MyInfo. This auto-fills your particulars and speeds up verification considerably.
  6. Transfer your fresh funds once the account is open. “Fresh funds” means money new to Standard Chartered β€” shifting existing SC balances around won’t count.
  7. Hold the funds for the required period. The reward is contingent on maintaining the balance, so check the holding period in the Q3 2026 terms before you commit.
  8. Reward is credited to your SGD account after the qualifying period. A Relationship Manager will typically be assigned and in touch well before that.

If the code field rejects 8B92B, close the browser tab and start fresh from the link β€” the page sometimes caches an expired session rather than the code being invalid.

Eligibility & Terms You Should Know

Be honest with yourself about these before applying:

  • New-to-bank only. This is the biggest disqualifier. Existing SC customers cannot participate in the New-To-Bank sign-up promotion.
  • S$200,000 minimum. Below this you won’t reach Priority Banking, and no tier pays out.
  • Fresh funds only. Money already with Standard Chartered doesn’t count towards the tiers.
  • Excluded from eligible investments: insurance policies, foreign currency exchange transactions, and investments made using CPFIS or SRS monies. If your S$200,000 plan involved SRS, rework it.
  • Age: 18+ for a deposit account, 21+ for credit cards and SC Online Trading.
  • Promotion window: 1 July to 30 September 2026. Applications received within the window may be processed for up to 14 calendar days after it closes, at the bank’s discretion.
  • Deposit insurance: SGD deposits are insured by SDIC up to S$100,000 per depositor per scheme member. Foreign currency deposits, structured deposits, dual currency investments and unit trusts are not insured. At S$200,000+, a meaningful portion of your money sits outside that protection.

Is the Standard Chartered Priority Banking Referral Bonus Worth It?

At the S$200,000 entry tier, S$350 on S$200,000 is a 0.175% one-off return. As a standalone “sign up bonus” that’s underwhelming, and it isn’t the reason to do this.

The actual case rests on the ongoing rates. Wealth $aver at up to 2.80% p.a. on S$200,000 is roughly S$5,600 a year β€” that’s the number that matters, and it needs to be compared against what your current bank pays you on the same balance. If you’re sitting in a 0.05% savings account, the switch pays for itself many times over regardless of the welcome gift.

Where it’s not worth it:

  • You’d have to stretch to hit S$200,000 and would rather keep the flexibility
  • Your funds are in SRS or CPFIS β€” those are excluded
  • You’re chasing the S$60,000 headline. You will not get S$60,000.
  • You already bank with Standard Chartered. You’re ineligible, full stop.

Where it makes sense: you already hold S$200,000+ in liquid assets, you’re unhappy with your current bank’s rates or advisory, and you were going to move the money anyway. In that case, using 8B92B costs you nothing and the welcome reward is a bonus on a decision you’d already made.

FAQ

Does the Standard Chartered Priority Banking referral code still work in 2026? Yes. 8B92B is valid for the current promotion window running 1 July to 30 September 2026. Codes themselves don’t expire, but the underlying sign-up promotion does, and terms are refreshed each quarter.

Do I get extra money for using a referral code? No, and any site telling you otherwise is guessing. Your welcome reward is set by the New-to-Bank sign-up promotion tiers and is the same with or without a code. The code determines who gets the referrer payout.

Can I use the code if I already have a Standard Chartered account? No. The New-to-Bank promotion excludes existing customers. If you closed or cancelled an SC account or card within the last 12 months, you’re also excluded.

What’s the minimum to join Priority Banking in Singapore? S$200,000 in qualifying assets under management. That can be spread across deposits and investments β€” it doesn’t need to be S$200,000 in cash.

How long does the bonus take to credit? For the new client, after your fresh funds holding period is satisfied β€” check the Q3 2026 terms for the exact window. For the referrer, cashback or miles land within 60 days of the referee’s application being approved.

Can I use CPF or SRS money to hit the S$200,000? No. Investments made using CPFIS or SRS are explicitly excluded from eligible investments, as are insurance policies and FX transactions.

Where do I enter the referral code? At sc.com/sg/referral, before you start any application. There’s no field for it inside the application form and it can’t be added retroactively.

Should I take the cash reward or the Signature CIO Fund? The fund track is worth roughly double on paper but pays in units, not cash, so its value moves with the market. Take it only if those portfolios fit your allocation anyway. Otherwise take the cash.

Is my money protected? SGD deposits are covered by SDIC up to S$100,000 per depositor per scheme member. Foreign currency deposits, unit trusts, structured deposits and dual currency investments are not covered.

What happens if I withdraw the funds early? The welcome reward is conditional on maintaining your fresh funds through the qualifying period. Withdrawing early can forfeit it. Read that clause before you move anything.
